:confused:I just checked on My T Mobile to see if my G1 data plan has been added. Being that I'm a former SunCom customer I saw that my old plan from SunCom was still being honored 1000 national minutes at $29.99 and they added the G1 data plan $24.99 unlimited data and 400 text minutes.
They also never removed my old data plan T ZONES which I was paying
$5.00 a month (same as with SunCom) I called customer service and they removed it. So be warned check your plan and make sure they're not double dipping you charging you for a data plan that is already coverd by your new G1 data plan. $5.00 times lets say 1000 customers is a lot of loot.

Well the BS has started. Was told today that they cannot remove my T Zones and in order to get the G1 data plan I and all old Sun Com customers must switch to a T Mobile rate plan. This is wrong as all out doors and I'm preparing to write the Att. General, the FCC, and the Better Bus. Bureau. The TMobile plans are know were as good or fair as what I was paying along with the addition of the data plan is crazy. SUN COM customers BEWARE.

They are bsin you. The reason many of the plans were left on was because they gave everyone a 7-10 day grace period in which you would not be charged for the g1 plan due to the fact that most people who had the sidekick had tmail. For those of you who know the tmail account is what holds your contacts, notes, calander, emails and so on. They were looking to let you be able to retrieve all that information from mytmobile before you started paying the regular rate. For those of you who took it off before the grace period you basically started paying for your g1 plan before you needed to so your bill will be a little higher then what it could have been if you would have rode it out.

I was asking about 3G service when I called tmob, and the lady found that I was registered for 2 G1 plans at 24.99 each! She also removed my 400msg plan at 4.99/month. Now I'm happily doing 39.99 indiv plan, 24.99 G1 Plan, with 4.79 Insurance. Good thing I called when I did, b/c I saved myself a headache when the bill would've arrived. If anything, everyone should call just to say hi to their T-mob rep. Maybe they could fix a problem you never knew you had. Cheers!

This is total BS. I got my phone Oct 21 ordered Sept 23 was told at time of order that I could keep my old SUNCOM plan $29.99 a month for 1000 national min, free mobile 2 mobile and free nights and weekends all I had to do was add the G1 data plan ($24.99) to replace my $5.00 SUNCOM data plan. When my phone arrived there was no new SIM card which shows that they originally intended to let SUNCOM cards work without changing plans as I was told. A few days later on My T Mobile billing I did see the $24.99 data plan had been added (another indicator that they would honor SUNCOM PLANS) but the T-Zone ($5.00 dataplan) was still on there. When I called to find out why I was being charged for 2 data plans I was informed that they would remove the T-Zone charge then they told me my SUNCOM plan would not support the G1 and I was getting data service thru a " free trial period" and would have to switch to a TMOB plan in order for my G1 to continue working at some point. They have since removed the G1 data plan rate from my TMobile page. Phone and data still working. After about 1hour on the phone with 3 CSR'S here's what they came up with:
They offered me a plan of 1000 min free nights and weekends for $49.99 (NO MOBILE 2 MOBILE) + the G1 data plan of $24.99 and my new contract will extend for 2 years from today despite the fact that I just extended on Sept 23 when I like others I was decieved being told my SUNCOM plan would not have to be changed. They were unwilling to even start my newly offered plan back to Sept 23. I've been with SUNCOM since 2003 and have never been late with a payment or gone over my rate plan by 1 sec which they would have rounded up to the next minute. That would be $20 more a month for the same minutes but losing a key feature were I save minutes calling my wife with M2M were most of calls go plus $24.99 for dataplan and I like most SUNCOM customers don't even live in a 3g area and have heard of no plans of any towers coming soon. Not to mention the cost of the phone $179 plus upgrade fee of $18 plus tax.
So my plan as others in this boat should do is WRITE YOUR ATTY. GENERAL, WRITE THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, AND WRITE THE FCC. Trust me this will put some heat under TMOB ass (I've done it before to SUNCOM when they tried to pull the oaky doak on text messaging dispute) This sounds extreme but this is the only way to stop these bullies from smacking us around. T-Mobile like other companies in the last couple of years swoop down by smaller companies and then treat the old loyal customers like crap. I won't stand for it and will send the phone back with all kind of scracthes and as much use as I can put on it so they can't even sell it as a refurb. I'm fighting for mines how bout you?

:mad:Well the jury has spoken well it least one side, no word yet from the BBB but it don't look like there willing to give up an inch. Got a call from the PRESIDENT'S OFFICE OF T MOBILE and some suit named VIN informed me that I have only 2 choices return the G1 (of course I'm going to have them reimburse me for the cost) and have all the charges credited from my acct. or get a T MOBILE rate plan. This would raise my cost by over $60 bucks a month that's over $1200 over 2 years ain't no way. In these times and what's ahead for the next 2 years this phone isn't close to worth it. I don't even live in a 3G area and no one knows when that will be.
So I'm packing my G1 up and sending it back. Wish I could sell all the junk I bought to go with it i.e. hard plastic snap on case, car charger, screen protector, and countless hours looking for the UPS truck a few short weeks ago.
But such is life and I refuse to be backed into a corner by any company and forced into a contract giving them all the leverge and being lied to from the start for a product that so far isn't all that great. GOOD but not
Great.
Be forewarned all you Sun Com converts there coming to get your money and they will not budge. I know that in a few months there will be something new on the market and I'll have my freedom of choice still in my corner and not in theres. CHECK YOUR BILLS READ OVER EVERYTHING THESE GUYS ARE GOOD AND STUBBORN:eek:.
