UK G1 users getting the shaft?

So I know the UK version firmware does not do AIM in IM.

UK users also dont get to use t-mobile wireless hotspots

UK users get a 2GB micro sd card

Any other ways we getting shafted?

oh yes also the MAPS app, the traffic seems not to work even though it does on the google website.

Also the weather does not show radar overlay.

Is the volume limited on the UK model of the G1? The max. volume level seems a bit low, especially compared with my Creative Zen (which I made sure was running US firmware since the UK/EU firmware is deliberately limited).

Download the 'Hello AIM!' app from the market, it's MUCH better than the US stock app anyway and uses data (thank god) instead of SMS.

Afront - you'll have to see if there's someone here with both a UK and US G1 to compare them.

I'm a uk user and i got an 8 gig card and a 2 gig card free with mine and you can use the wifi hotspots I texted "open" to 2526 and they text you back with a username and password to login. You can use t-mobile and bt openzone hotspots afaik. http://t-mobile.hotspot-directory.co.uk/search.php

I got mine online for £30 a month (which is currently $40 us), phone was free and data limit in UK is 3gig (which is less than US get, but I am nowhere near using it up, and I use the web and streaming video/music a fair bit over 3g) so I'm not complaining.
