people are returning G1s because they are defective!!!!
wondering why t-mobile is supplying defective G1s to their customers at first place..........

PEEEOPPPLE! If you're going by the amount of bitching on the forums about defective forums. I can assure you, people with messed up phones talk a lot more than happy people with good phones.
My phone is just great. But I'm not going to waste people's time by creating a OMFG BEST PHONE EVER thread.
Defects happen.
Also, it's not necessarily t-mobile's responsibility. Sure they're the ones selling it. But HTC made it, and Google made the sw.
So if something makes you sad about hardware/software. Get upset at them, not t-mobile.

My Phone is defective.
I am Returning/Exchanging it...
But I do not blame T-Mobile, it is not their responsibility but that of HTC to test it... I dont really care as long as I get a new phone (not refurbished) since of course my warranty is still good...
I'm just being lazy to return because I do not want to go without a phone, but when I get the 2nd one I ordered, I will return ASAP!
G1 has 3 parties... let's put the blame on the right one (Party) and not whine about Google or T-mo or HTC on wrong basis...
I'm Out!

i am a customer of Tmobile, i don't care where Tmobile gets G1s from, i got it from Tmobile, i should blame them rather try to find out who is the supplier or distributor or maker of G1......... and blame them.........

discussion is not negativity if it is warranted.
fact is negativity when it is unsourced and false
complaining last time I check was pretty negative.
negative discussions in my experience usually stay negative because it invites more complaining etc. It's only positive when someone does something good about it. But if its a point that won't obviously have a positive solution its going to stay negative.

Well, no general complaints in my case. Battery is little weak but can be fixed with an update.
Phone is not overheating while on charge; Very fast interface, very fast operating in general speaking; applications install very fast, 3G uses little bit more battery which does not concern me much; when I use GPS it is plunged into the car charger anyway so I am not affected there either.
I do not know what to tell you... I was thinking of returning the phone but I will stick with it since it costs me only $50-60 :) ...
So there you go now :) - I am not complainin :)

i still love mine. even before the rc29, i would leave BT, 3g and gps on all day, not use it much during the 9-5 and it would last me from 7am to 11pm on one charge.
the market gets new apps every day, 1 in 20 is good =] but i'm loving this way more than my dash. i just miss my pocket snes with FF3 and my 12 hours of game play!

here we go, another complain that some of the keys like 'R' or 'F' are lower than other keys....... also its hard to type in low light with keyboard in bronze and white G1s.........
no matter how far you go, you can balance G1s pro and cons.................. it always something wrong with G1....... funny ha

Hey my G1 got sent back today as a defective unit (see my "My G1 is bricked" thread), but guess what...I can't WAIT for my replacement to arrive. My Dash was such a piece of crap that I can forgive being the one that got one of the 1% defective units (completely made up stat but you get my point). I just hope that the defect rate is indeed that low so that my next one being shipped to me by T-Mo is all good :)

My phone was also defective. Yes, it was a huge letdown but I got something good out of it. So instead of me paying 350.00 for the phone, I'm now getting it for a full discount which is 179.99. I can't really complain at this point. Thanks T-mobile !

Seriously, gofor8miles, do you have to repeatedly make threads on how dissatisfied you are? I think you could put it all in a single thread instead of making multiple ones.
Defects happen. It's financially prohibitive to test each and every phone, and if they did you would be complaining about how expensive the phone was.
Is this the first product you've ever bought? In the past month I've returned 2 hard-drives and a DIMM of RAM. Do I complain? No. It happens. Live with it, or return the phone so you don't have to deal with such a horrible device and quality control.

Yes, I've noticed pretty every single post by this person has been very negative towards the G1...do I think the G1 has no issues? Of course not. But, my phone is fine, the R and F keys are where they should be, and this phone meets my needs. The bloomin' thing just came out for Pete's sake..I remember when the iPhone came out, lots of issues there too.
I guess I'm not sure why the OP keeps posting these threads..if you don't like the phone, return it and move on. It's really that simple.
