Question, what if I forgot my visual code thing pattern

It's my phone I don't have it set to lock i was playing with it the other day and i set a visual pattern but now i cant change it to something else since the pattern is already set, what do i do about that.

I assume your only hope is to do a hard reset. Try searching the forums for it. i think you home down the power and home button.

If you let the phone lock and you enter the pattern wrong a few times its going to ask you to type in your password to your gmail account. After you enter the right password it will ask you to create a new pattern.

I figured out there's a safemode in the phone you can get into it by holding down the menu button during boot up, by the way this also bypasses the security pattern, but if you lock the screen again you whould have to go in thru safemode again.

I know this, this is where im stuck, i already created an unlock pattern put i have yet to activate it. However when i go to the change pattern option it is asking for the pattern which I stored. Im still stuck hasent asked me for my gmail password and i dont want to purposely active it in case it does not ask it for it.

I just tried it for the sake of trying. It. and if you try the wrong pattern 5 times it will make you wait 30 seconds and in the lower left above the emergency call it will give you an option to unlock with your gmail acct and auto change your pattern

Do what I did (take a look at my avatar pic to the left). I was real bored at work...

A little off topic - but the unlock pattern program stalled while I was attempting an unlock the other day and I had to force a close. The phone went right to the home screen! Has this happened to anyone?

1. Turn phone off
2. Hold home key and press power on key - after a short wait (quicker than normal startup) you will see a screen with a Warning triangle and a phone picture
3. Press Home key and Power on key together- you will see three options

* reboot
* apply sdcard:update.zip
* factory reset

4. Select with track ball and click as required

^^^^THIS i tried it it works (although i had to press emergency dial then the back button when i locked me out) all other options are complicated and useless unless u stole the phone
