god damnit! was texting in the car and put it in my lap...then i went to get out, thinking it was in my pocket and it flew out and landed face down in the street. theres a small chunk missing on the top left corner and some damage on the bottom of the chin. imm so pissed.

also, i have a screen with too much play when i touch it. i was gonna call about a replacement, but now it has some damage, will they replace it? or say that i broke it when i did the damage?

they will probably deem it out of warranty due to "physical abuse..." a lot of people are having the loose screen issue apparently (including me), but until that is an official warranty problem with t-mobile/recall issue, they will more than likely tell you "it could have been caused by your drop..."

do what i do, if i'm adamant that an issue with the phone is gonna worry me, stow the phone and use a backup until you get it switched... better to be safe than sorry

kinda reminds me of the episode of seinfeld when kramer sells all his life stories to peterman and elaine when she works for the peterman catalogue... kramer tells a story about how his pants didn't fit right, and he was on his way to return them and fell in a puddle in the subway, and he was "wearing the very pants he was going to return..."

i'm not trying to make fun of you or the situation, but you can clearly see where the problem therein lays

??? i hope you are being sarcastic... but just in case

t-mobile's warranty, as well as most any standard manufacturer warranty does not cover accidental damage... "chipping" of the phone is obvious misuse of the phone which could have possibly caused the problems that he is having...

if you owned you're own shoe store and someone comes back with a pair of white shoes that has an ink stain on them, they obviously would not take it back...

and just fyi, t-mobiles warranty exchanges abide by the same rules the manufacturer warranty does... t-mobile is just basically a middleman that takes care of the warranty for you so you don't have to go through the herrendous process of filing a warranty exchange with the manufacturer themselves...

do you think t-mobile will be able to resell the phone as is? have any idea how much it'll cost t-mobile directly to replace the casing of the phone so that they can resell the phone? even if it is cheap, which it is fact that it is not, they'd probably have to sell it at a discounted price as a refurbished device...

if i crack my screen do you expect them to switch it out within buyer's remorse? sure i'm a buyer, and sure i have remorse now that i broke my screen, but it isn't their responsibility that i did so... its the insurance on your account if you added it that covers these issues

if they gave it to you, thats a warranty replacement... if they charged you for it (110 dollars was the previous deductible), then that was an insurance claim... and no, to me it was not obvious that you were assuming he has insurance... i could have just mistaken you which i am known to do, but i think most people would agree with me on that point...

if it was a warranty replacement, the dash had a specific issue where there was a missing bracket between the outside casing of the phone and the lcd screen which caused it to crack easily... there was no recall made on this batch of dashes that i am aware of, but you were able to get the phone replaced on t-mobiles coin...

i'm not trying to lecture you, and i am not trying to patronize you... i know my poorly written anecdotes may be mistaken for condescending, but i am simply trying to educate people on the matter... i'm just a regular t-mobile business customer, and i happen to feel more secure in knowing what i'm buying and the rules to everything that go with it... i apologize if this is rude of me, but the general concensus is that most people don't know diddly about the company that they recieve services from

well, give them a call and see if they'll replace it... if they do let you send it in, be aware that they may charge you an out of warranty replacement fee or something like that if they deem it out of warranty...

if you want to file an insurance claim, go to phoneclaim.com and start your process there, and then give the insurance company a call

Yeah my wife did the same thing. Put a little ding in her G1, but it still works fine. Told her that is why she has a carrying case. It is not to be sitting on her lap...
