I assume that the OP has a G1 also abd has experienced every problem that has come up on these forums if not seems kind of hipocritical to make such a statement. By the way Most of the problems I have read that our AC members are having are able to be resolved by themselvs!! Were you an expert on windows XP or Vista or Leopard the day it was released? Did you know how to access every function and feature it had?? I doubt it, most problems can be resolved with experimenting / or asking the AC what they did to resolve the issue. Most problems can be resolved by understanding what your phone settings do and how to properly access them.:D

Actually, his numbers might not be that far off, but im sure his reasons are. Lots of new products receive 20-40% returns on first launch due to many reasons. Customers might have not known how to use it, or have been prepped for features that weren't there. I can also imagine customers buying it and finding out there will be other colors available soon and returning it to wait.

Of that 90% so far a very small amount even mentioned the thought of returning their phone.

I don't know about the actual numbers, but I do know Ive had a number of problems with my g1. There is a learning curve and it is to be expected that there is a trade-off for moving to the technological frontier. I don't think people should be quoting unfounded, non-evidential statistics-but the fan-boy 'android can do no wrong' stance is a lil much at this point.

Are you having problems hearing your ringtones or music?
Because my speaker is loud as shizz when i play my MP3s, if its your ringtones make sure your ringtone and media alerts or tones volumes are turned all the way up in your settings, if they are it may be the ringtones themselvs that you are using, try using ringdroind app and edit a mpe song you like and cut out the portion of the song that seems the loudest, try that my friend.;)

What you tend to find on most forums, whether it be android, rc cars, weightloss, etc. are the people who are having problems. They come here for support, to learn about their phone and how to resolve the problem. Once they get what they need, they tend to disappear. Then, what you have left is us geeks who live here to offer our support to the next batch that needs help, while the last batch has resolved their problems and have moved on and are off living their lives.

There's a relatively simple solution: find the HTC stock ticker and look up their SEC filing. More than likely they'll have the number of G1 units sold, although they may just lump all of their products together in which case everyone can speculate even more until their Q4 earnings come out.

This is just a personal feeling of mine. Most people who bought the G1 on hype will never use it to it's full potential. Nor will they care to do so. In a way its a good thing that so many have been returned, less people using bandwidth. :) Android OS has so much going for it now, and even way more in store for the future. The people who stick around are going to be rewarded with great software from great developers who were able to develop and distribute their software the way they intended it to be. [run-on?]

If this is true luckily I am apart of the 56% club that hasnt had any major issues with this phone. As far as reliability I would go on a limb and say that this is the best phone I have ever had. MY G1 HAS BEEN GOOD TO ME :cool:
