Calendar probs: can't view private events in my own cal

The Android calendar isn't seeing events configured as PRIVATE in my own calender. In the main online calendar, the private events have a little LOCK symbol next to them. But why aren't they showing on the Android version?

There must surely be a way of getting Android to see Private events, or to set all events as Default en-mass

(some history: all the events that are PRIVATE were imported from another calendar some time ago. They were all nativly DEFAULT, but for some reason that have come in as Private)

Let's just come out and say it.... the G1's Calendar sucks!

The week/month views are useless. The day view requires you to scroll down to see evening events. The whole application is a little half-baked. I am hoping this will get updated in the near future.

OK, for the purposes of archiving, here's what I did to fix it.

I exported my cals as .ics files, and opened them in WORDPAD. (don't use Notepad, Excel, etc)

Then did a replace all for CLASS:PRIVATE to CLASS:PUBLIC

Then deleted the cal, and then imported it.

Scary deleting the cal, cause it's my life. Yes, I have backups, but still.
