I signed up for the $25 plan which is unlimited data and 400 texts a month. The guy told me aim, msn counts as text messages..is this true?

Yes, if you read the fine print you would know that AIM, YIM and MSN Messanger all use SMS. They aren't using the data plan like Google Talk.

Gtalk messages are free. They use data, not texts.
