Yeah, my whole device has been updated.

Firmware ver 1.5
RC32 instead of 29.

Not too sure whats going on.

Oh course man!
With the firmware update that came with it, now there is the theme selection, AIM stays connected and a virtual keyboard. Those are the biggest things I've noticed.

And best yet, it makes you a cup of coffee in the morning! :D

Does Microsoft or Apple send updates to your e-mail when updating their products?

Answer: No.

It's automatic. A dialogue box will pop up mentioning the update. From there you have two options. One of which is restart and install or something like that.

You'd think that. However what happens is, it can control the coffee machine via bluetooth. Then from there the G1 pops out a little android which is now your little companion. He's really cool. He offered to make me coffee as I was waking up today. :D

Well, in all fairness, when sidekicks are updated (after the actual update), an email is sent to your tmail address telling you what was updated. I believe that's where the original question came from.

Yes, but that's the sidekick. Things are different.

With the G1 it just prompts you that there is an update. Two options to pick from. I believe one restarts your G1 and updates it, the other ignores it or something. I can't remember, it was early this morning and my companion android was making me a cup of coffee while my G1 was updating.

Thanks for the heads up. I thought I bricked it for a bit with some of the screens and how long it took to boot back up but I'm now out RC29.

Have you been staying up nights, with your G1 turned on, watching the screen?

From what I've heard on other threads, you'll see a pop up message, asking if you'd like the G1 to apply the update. This pop up only remains on your screen for 30 seconds. If you miss it, no update for YOU.

Please be sure to stay awake throughout the night, with your eyes glued to your G1's screen, watching for the update notification, so that you don't miss it.

You guys can use the method posted earlier to force the upgrade. Its all over XDA-devs and also listed on my site. No use losing sleep for weeks at a time waiting for something you can do manually.
