For alot of us, Our data service has been out for a couple of hours yesterday. Thus not giving us access to the internet nore the app market. Alot of you might say, "Could this be the 1st 3G outage from T-Mobile? or If so, How often are these outage's going to happen?" Well just to bring some people up to date on just what went on. Allow me to just answer your questions.

1. No it was not a 3G outage.
2. As far as how often will we be seeing 3G outage's? - Only T-Mobile knows.

If you guys remember last week it was announced that, The people who pre-ordered the G1's got that little 7 day free trial of data use. Anyone recall that? Well T-Mobile gave a trial of there 3G network for 7 days to every G1 pre-order customer . And now the trial is over. And T-Mobile has started implementing the G1 3g plans.

I hope this can give you guys a good understanding if just what happend. :)

Thanks for this information!! I was going to call CS yesterday and I found a post explaining what happened to many of us and I just logged into My-tmobile and added back the G1 plan, powered down my phone, take out the battery for like 5 mins and after that I was on EDGE like a Pro-surfer on the web!! :D

I was down here too for I don't know how long in the middle of the night. I am Central Al. I did add the G1 data plan before I left for work at 10:30 pm. Wasn't sure if that was the reason.

I lost service too, and thanks to AC I called, asked for billing, and had it back on in a couple minutes, as opposed to not knowing what the problem was and probably would have asked for tech support and probably would have spent over 30 minutes finding out.

Thanks AC.

Funny you say that, I called them up and went to the tech support and they couldn't do anything for me. They had me do a master reset, and still nothing. so i had to wait until the network came back up to use my data plan again.::mad:

I have had the saqme problem, I called CS. They told me there was a Global wide outage and was unsure about when it would return. They did mention that the free trial was over, but also said it was the outage. As of now I still have no data service.

I called CS yesterday after my data went out.
Rep said they made a mistake and didnt add many of the data plans.:mad:
Then I heard the frustration in her voice and felt bad.:(
But really, I already did all this when I bought the phone.
Is it too much to ask a comapany to do what they said they would?
She added the data plan and credited me 120 minutes:eek:
I have a data plan, why do I need to talk on the phone?
NEways, they said it was their fault. Gotta give it to them for admitting fault.:)

I live in OH and my edge has been out for almost 2 days. I have wifi at home so I didn't really notice it was out (though I noticed the edge symbol was gone when not on my wifi).

So I called CS today and something wasn't set up right. The good news is that it's working now :)
