I would assume copy contact number would have been a obvious option for this phone but i can not find a decent way to send someone a contact's number. i do not want to bluetooth it (which i havent tried). Can anyone help me out?

write it down, type it in a text message?

You can copy and past it if you want, contacts>view contact>edit contact> use shift+trackball to highlight the number, then hold down the trackball to bring up copy menu, or use menu+c to copy. Go to your text message, long press or hold down track ball to paste, or use menu+v.

You could also use the touch and hold the screen method of cut and paste.

1) select the number my touching the field.
2) press and hold the screen.
3) The options to cut / copy will appear for your selection
4) Go to your sms and press and hold in the message area.
5) Option to paste would appear. Paste it.

I would still prefer an option to send / forward your contact directly from the Contacts list. but I think this is what is available for now.

Bluetooth is not fully implemented. You still can't send stuff via bluetooth with the G1.
