Divx or Xvid on the Tmobile G1?

Is the Tmobile G1 powerful enough to play Divx or Xvid videos? If so, I am surprised nobody has come out with a player yet.

i have been using a program dvdfab with mobile options to convert to mp4 using the iphone option that seems to be using the same format that the g1 uses and same screen size...the movies looks great on my pc...im still waiting on the phone(tat was suppose to be delivered today) to check the quality

Powerful enough? Yes. Xvid is actually easier on hardware than mp4. (unless I've got something mixed up...)

But the real question is, is there divix or xvid codec support on the current video player apps

i dont think so, ive tried xvids and a high def mkv and they dont seem to be supported by the video player

currently the codec are not on the android. We will need to wait for some developer to bring it over... Or DivX can create a player for Android...

I cant wait either... I've already converted many DVDs to DivX for playback to my PS3 over upnp. I would not want to reconvert all those into mp4. Copying or streaming those files into the Android would save lots of time.
