So I found this out completely on accident, and it almost makes the lack of a 3.5mm jack okay for me. If this has already been posted I apologize in advance, I was not able to find it.
So, we all got those corded headsets that came with the G1, right? Well, if you're like me you immediately threw it to the side thinking "pfft, crappy OEM headset" and paired a bluetooth adapter.
Well I had some work to do at work today that I knew would be a perfect chance to zone out to music. Lacking an adapter for my normal headphones I grabbed the OEM ones and went to work. I hooked them up shortly after I got to work and discovered the sound quality from them, even bass, really is not bad. Now they aren't as good as a good Sony, Bose, of Skullcandy, but they aren't bad. Without the little foam covers they're tolerable as far as comfort too.
Now for what I find really damn cool. If you play music through the default player (which I have), you can actually push the little button on the headset to pause your music! Once you're done being interrupted you can push it again to resume playback. I think this is a great feature. I tried it in tunewiki to no avail which is sad, but maybe they'll add it down the road. I also noticed that this works even if the music player is in the background...I was able to text message and pause/resume my music at the same time!
Hopefully someone finds this useful :)
