I'm thinkin' about buying an iPod Touch ... thoughts on the 2nd generation version? Or, do you think it's better to wait, with prices lowering on it soon?

Bought 2g one for my daughter... out of the box I have had more "fun" with it than my phone... she loves the speaker...

There is one problem it cannot be jailbroken (hacked to put themes and apps on).

Themes, skinning, etc.

I have a 1st Gen iPoT and I really like it. Can't go wrong with it, get the 32 Gig :)

Lots of cool stuff if you jail break it. Themes, applications not approved by apple, etc.

i would probably buy an ipod touch if A: i did not have an 80 gig ipod already. or B. if i could not get an ipod with more hard drive space for less.

I had the 1g touch then I upgraded to 2g touch and I love the touch. I also have the g1 but I don't use music on that , that is what my touch is for. The only thing I hate is the crashing especilly durring typeing .

I would get an iPod touch for the App Store, the Safari browser and the .3mm larger screen. There are many jewels in the App Store... RJDJ (http://rjdj.me/)for one. It will be a while til we get stuff like that and quality games on G1, but we most certainly will.

Vincent, thanks a lot for showing me that video and link @ SlashGear ... In a few weeks I'll buy one.

The best part is the no contract, and I don't have a G1 yet. I'm just on these forums hanging around really haha.

It's a fantastic little device. One of my co-workers has one and wow, I can't get enough of it. Especially while we're hanging out and smoking... cigarettes, yes. >_>

Check out the neat little lighter application. It's basically a digital zippo. Absolutely mind-blowing.

I have one... works great... Especially the EasyShare App... It basically lets me set up a networked share drive on my Touch to transfer files back and forth without having to Sync...

There are also plenty of Apps to keep you busy until the Android market gets up to full steam.

I'm getting a touch as soon as I get some scratch.

The only thing I miss about my old Iphone 3G was it's multimedia. Since I had ****ty 3G service, I rarely used it without wifi anyway.

But I miss it's high quality video, and audio streaming. Something that I'm sure will eventually make its way to the G1, but I'm not willing to wait. :P

Not to mention, Icomic! Viewing comics on the touch is sweeet.
