Hi all
I did a few searches on this and couldn't find anything useful so I decided to open a thread. Is there a way to import your sim contacts to gmail? I know that you can import gmail contacts to the phone but is there a way that gmail can take the contacts off th g1 and import it into their gmail contacts? Thanks.

All the contacts on the phone should sync to gmail and vis-a-versa. Once it's in the phones contacts it will show up in gmail. sooner or later.

My brother was asking this too. What if you:

1. Created a few contacts on Gmail.
2. Export them to your desktop.
3. Import your contacts from your current phone to your desktop
4. Change your imported contacts from your current phone to the Gmail format.
5. Import them back in Gmail.

May work, may not. Just a hunch... : )

you'll need to go to the contacts tab in the dialer, then hit menu and go to settings -- from there you can pull from the SIM into the regular G1 contacts. -- these will then go to Gmail when it syncs.
