is it just me or does the phone lack the option of organizing photos into personalized folders? it seems to organize them into pics you downloaded from the web and pics you take with the camera.
how do I organize pictures into my own folders if possible?

Just make different folder on your SD card. Then when you click on the pictures option in the menu it will have them in the correct folders you put them in.

ah ok thanks, another related question. it seems to be a hassle if I have to use the comp to organize my photos every time, does the android UI allow me to move pictures into folders without the use of a comp?

At this time no. I hope someone releases a file manager soon.

I made a different folder in my sd card (named it "family" for instance) but when I go to my phone it doesn't come up with the folder, it still just comes up with all of them together. Am I just going to have to wait for an organization program?

Hmm.
Mine displays photos in sets. The sets correspond to the file folders, even have the same names. Except for the fact that you cannot create/move files with the phone and must use the computer, the system seems to work well because you can play a slideshow from within just a set.
Your are right that the very first set, top left of screen when you open Pictures, is the 'all' set -- all photos on your SDmicro card.
If you have photos in other folders then those folders should also show up as sets.
The photos taken with the camera can be found on the SDmicro card under:
Camera > DCIM
Move them from there to other folders that you create and see if you get them as sets in Pictures.

you can use picsay to save them to a second folder (from the phone) its the only way I've found to organize them at all.
yes from one to two folders.

As confirmation, I placed pictures in /dcim/Camera/Family yet all the pictures still show up jumbled together.
Has anyone else confirmed that this method works? It seems confusing that 1 person would say this method works while other say it doesn't work for the same device.

Starang - when I referred to grouping photos in folders so that Pictures would show them as different sets, I failed to mention that I made those folders outside of the DCIM folder, not as subfolders in Camera.
Sorry about not being clear on that.
