Whats the deal? ive had the phone for 3 days and whenever i touch the screen is creaks..and as i slide the keyboard open, just a tad, it makes a noise...

but its annoying that theres give whenever i touch the touch screen (mostly along the edges) and it moves and creaks.

the phones 3 days old....will it hold up for, say, 2 years of use at this creakiness?...are they all like this?

Try looking at the thread below. You might be able to fix the creaking.

If the creaking seems like its coming from underneath the screen then i would suggest calling tmobile and asking them to send you another one. If it creaks now that its a pretty new phone its only going to get worse. I hope they are able to help you

if they replaced it, you would have to send the phone back to them before they send you the new one, assuming they would be able to help you.

seriously, enough with the "again" replies.

i agree, it is not just the creak noise, the screen itself is loose and that is part of the reason for the noise, not just the plastic strip. shaving down the plastic strip with an exacto knife might get rid of the noise but that only takes care half of the problem.

so far i've read that bronze phones have better snug fit than black phones.

i know, he's saying "again" yet his response doesnt even answer what i was asking.

and i know they strip thing wouldnt solve the screen loosness.

honestly i can deal with it, as long as it doesnt get worse over time and eventually get unbearable.

Mine has also become ever so slightly loose and creaky. It's annoying. I'm going to be having it replaced.

Mine is creaky but I used some of the left over plastic from my invisible shield and slapped it on the back of the slide up screen it kinda fixed the problem

I'm still within my 30 day trial period, so I can return it for any reason.

Any time I have ever needed a new phone from Tmobile, they send me the new one, and a box to return the old one in. I have never been without a phone. Also, I have a black G1 and it's quiet as a mouse. (Knock on wood)

Seems to be hit or miss. I went back to the tmobile store to check the 3 display models. These things must be taking way more abuse than any one user can dish out and they are solid. No creaking.

Go figure...

what upstair said...

its not the creak noise that annoys me, but then again mine is quiet, and with the exacto knife solution, i dont see this being a problem (the creaking noise). HOWEVER, the screen itself moves slightly when you tap on its' bottom right corner (right above the red button) and top left corner, when i browse something with the screen in normal position, the CLICKING noise, not creaking, annoys the hell out of me...

my local tmobile store is out of bronze and expecting 50 black ones this week, i am gonna go check them out.

This might seem sadistic, but use a small cross screw driver and slightly unscrew the back of the screen. I had this issue and it seems like the screw was too tight, causing the noise. Hope this helps.

Is t-mobile replacing the phones with this problem?
