My G1 is having problems connecting to my WiFi. Even when the phone is not too far from the wireless router, it would tell me that the signal is weak. The connection would go on and off continuously. Has anyone else experienced the same?

Have you tried connecting to a different wifi network? I only ask because it maybe your wireless router having problems. What kind of router is it? I think my D-link had a setting to increase the wifi signal strength. See if yours has a setting like that.
I've had a problem with my G1 my Belkin Router. It connects and tell me I have good wireless signal but the phone will not make calls or receive call. I also cant text or receive text. I've had the same problem with my Blackberry Curve with my router saying it is a software issue.

I've noticed the same issue. My Macbook will show full signal and my phone (sitting beside computer) will have 2 bars. At work my Macbook shows full bars but I'll get 1 or 2 on the phone. Sometimes I'll lose the connection. At home I'm sitting at my desk with my router right beside me. I've yet to get full bars on the wifi. As a side note, the phone itself has very good reception. Is anyone getting full wifi signal?

I had no problem connecting to both mine and our beach house wireless. However, when I got back home this weekend the G1 did not even acknowledge that my home SSID was an option to connect to. It saw it, but said it was too far or weak (cant recall) to connect to... yet it connected automatically to my neighbors. I could not figure out how to try and force a connection with my wireless.
Regardless, I am amazed with the speed of the EDGE.. though youtube is not an option in my work building.

I can't connect to my belkin N router . I tried removing the WPA security thinking that may have been causing it but my G1 will not even detect the ssid. I can connect to an unsecure linksys no problem and my d-link at home with wep is no problem.

I have a Belkin Pre-N router and although I had connection problems w/ WPA security, it has been working flawlessly with WEP.

my wireless is WEP protected. I connected perfectly the first time but can not figure out how to make it connect again.... anyone having issues with this?
I told it to "forget", rekeyed the password... waited... did not connect. Sometimes it switches to "not in range" which is not a possibility, then flips back to showing excellent signal strength. When I hit connect, it acts like its trying to and then ultimately does not. Its no biggie as the EDGE is plenty fast for what I am doing, its more the principle that it SHOULD be connecting to it.
I do have my linksys to only allow to MAC addresses, my PS3 and work laptop.... would this be preventing it?
I thought it would not since it connected perfectly the initial time, thoughts?

FYI I had wifi connection problems, too, but I eventually fixed them by changing the network name.
I had an old SMB router, and first I tried to fix it by buying a new D-Link router (keeping the same "default' network name), but it wouldn't connect to it either.
As a last resort, I tried changing the network name from "default" to "timmy" and it finally was able to connect. I went back to the old router and it also works with the "timmy" network name. I'm using WEP-64 encryption, but I also tried without any encryption at all, and for some reason the "default" network name still doesn't work.
FYI This is with versions RC19 and RC29

I'm running a Linksys WRT54G with WAP2 using TKIP+AES. I wasn't able to get the G1 to connect to the router until I hard-coded in an IP address. It's worked like a charm ever since, although I never get as good of a signal on it as I do my laptop.

Can you tell me how you resolved your problems? i have tried almost everything except resetting the phone because i don't want to have problems registering since i dont have G1 Plan.

As a footnote to this, I just got that "new update" on my G1 tonight, and the first thing I noticed was (apparently, but need to try more tests) far better wifi reception/connection. And it used to suck.
