Okay, well I am pretty much a noob, so here is the story:
I got the G1 from someone I know, and before giving it to me, he performed a factory reset. He had some sort of hack going on, he mentioned something about a clockworkmod. The phone pretty much doesn't boot to the "home screen" but this is what happens: the phone will start up, show the G1 logo, move onto the Android startup, and then will be stuck in a black screen.
I tried holding the HOME and END keys to go to recovery mode, and did both a soft reset and hard reset, but these did nothing. He ended up telling me that I need to access the flashed clockwork, but because we have no way of loading anything, we have no idea what to do. If this was a bit vague, I apologize, but if you request further information, I will be able to find out. Thanks.
