Can I listen to local FM radio stations with my G1? If I can, can someone pls tell me how. Thanks so much in advance!:)

no. not FM. there is no FM receiver.

the only way this could be possible is IF the "fm" station has a live stream, AND IF someone creates a streaming audio app

as for "fm" - never
as for internet streams - possibly in the future.

Thats why I hope VLC gets ported to Android.

VLC supports streaming audio. I use it for a lot o stations local to me, and for groove salad, etc.

If VLC gets ported, it would have a distinct advantage for the G1 over Iphone in my opinion.

The other music App 'Diggin' has streaming internet radio, but I don't think its out yet.

We have developed an Internet Radio/Ripper application for Android.
This application can be downloaded from the following link http://broov.in/downloads/BroovAdore_1.0_beta.apk

This supports searching 1500+ radio stations based on Genre, Region Based and Popularity or by Keyword.

Also, this client supports radio stations from PLS file and M3U links.

Awaiting feedback from beta testers to publish this client in Android market.
