So I'm planning on getting the the G1. My contract is already up so that is already taken care of.

I was originally going to get white but seeing as in its not out I'm just going to spring for the black. Also when I buy the phone do I HAVE to get the $25 or $35 deal? Can I just get the $19.99 tmobile data plan, I already have unlimited texting on my plan.
Also, does anyone know exactly when the white comes out? My friend who works for tmobile told me sometime between black friday and February.

yeah you got to pick a data plan when you go into the store to get the phone. I believe u have to even if you order it online. Getting them to downgrade your g1 data plan to the 19.99 total internet plan is difficult according to members here. It can be done though.

The white one i was told will come out "in a few months" whatever that means. I assume its a marketing ploy where once people aren't buying G1's anymore they will release the white one to bring up sales again.

last word i heard about the white was "after thanksgiving..." if you have family messaging, make sure to tell them to add the 24.99 data plan WITHOUT messaging, if you have a 14.99 individual unlimited messaging package, then the 34.99 feature is the way to go

thanks for the answer! well since my cousins boyfriend is selling it to me, should i ask when i get my plan to put the 19.99 deal instead? if he's the one selling me the plan im pretty sure he can do it, as long as i explain it to him.

i cant wait any longer for the white! my unlocked iphone is acting up and its time for a upgrade!

how do you like the g1 mikey, and what color do you have?

i had the black one, and it looked plain to me. The glossiness on the top half of the bronze is wicked, so i took my black one back and took the bronze.

No regrets here so far, well except for the known keyboard issue in low light situations.

I have no clue to why you would do such a thing.
