Can you text while driving on the G1?

Yea we know its unsafe , blah blah but sometimes you just gotta send texts on the fly
anyway, with the keyboard and all, is it possible with one hand?

I've done it. It's not safe don't do it. Just call the person of it's that urgent or at least wait for a red light.

if you hand is big enough... maybe. I wouldn't do it. Hell, I've tried to just do the draw unlock code and failed 5 times while driving. Go figure.

I'm with you on this one, but proping your elbows on the steering wheel works, and one handed typing is possible but takes practice. I used to do that on my SK so it almost the same with my G1.

I've got long fingers, E.T. finger's if you will. On my LX I could text while driving like it was my job.

It's called one hand on the wheel and one finger on the phone. But it's not easy but it will do .

i can't do it very well at least...

plus laws are being produced to make text messaging illegal while driving... imo, they should have done this first rather than talking on the phone in the car, text messaging is three times more as dangerous

Yeah, its pretty tough to do. But, I made the mistake of pulling out my phone in a car full of my girlfriends, one of them grabbed it and started texting 'crap' to a friend of mine. Not cool.

im guilty to this on occasion, drive with my ring and pinky fingers around the steering wheel at the bottom while txting with the rest,

i dont take my eyes off the road though, i make sure to be able to txt without looking before i try to do it when its necessary and im driving

It's easy. Your knee on the wheel and two hands on your G1. Looking up and down is the hard part.

Hell talking while driving is illegal in some states. I do text and drive occasionally. Tough to do. It was easier on my dash. But it can be done
