And I was thinking of calling t-mobile and reporting my phone as broken, like I cracked the screen but it still works, so that I could pay to have the insurance send me another, I want to give it to my bf. Get it unlocked for att for himm. I have a way with words so I know I can get it unlocked, but does that insurance plan sound workable to anyone?

You will have to return your existing G1. If you don't you will be out the insurance deductible and full price of a new G1. If you report your existing G1 as lost they will disable it and it will not be usable on the T-Mobile network.

And by the way what you would be doing is insurance fraud.

the insurance plan doesn't cover the entie cost of the phone it will still cost you like 150 or so. If you don't mind paying it will probably work except im pretty sure thats considered fraud. Also if you say its broken there going to want you to send it to them and if you say it was stolen there going to want a police report.

This plan is broadcasting your intent to commit insurance fraud. Please think about what you're posting on a public forum.

Insurance fraud is a big offense and could result in jail time... I don't think it is worth it
