When I set up an IMAP charter.net email account on my DroidX, my desktop PC can no longer access the charter.net POP email server. Merely setting up the mail account on the Droid "breaks" my PC's email. I don't even launch the DroidX mail client, and I don't have a Widget that constantly checks for new mail. The only way to restore email access to my PC is to either delete the IMAP email account on the DroidX, or turn off the DroidX.
Right now, every time I leave home I have to quit my PC's POP email client and create the IMAP email account on the DroidX. Then when I get home I have to delete the DroidX IMAP account and re-start the PC's POP email client.
Why does the DroidX perpetually connect to the charter.net IMAP mail server when the IMAP email client isn't even running?
Is there any way to enable/disable an IMAP email account on the DroidX? Right now the only way I have found to disable it is to delete it altogether.
