Hello to everyone,
I'm a newby, Italian, but living in Tokyo. Recently convinced to move to android from Symbian... (never too late)! I apologise for the length of this post and if it's OT in which case, please, direct me to the correct forum.
I need some advice as on a number of forums I receved contrasting advice and I'm really confused.
I got a locked hTC DHD from the japanese carrier Softbank.
With it they "upgraded" my old USIM to a new, locked, USIM.
I also have 4 other unlocked phones and 4 otehr unlocked USIMs (US, ITA, UK and Fr) carriers.
I have only these objectives:
1.
Use my Softbank USIM in my OTHER UNLOCKED phones.
- I can access only voice & sms.
- APN menus don't recognize the Sim Card.
- I cannot use the unlimited data plans (Softbank) with this Sim inserted in my other unlocked phones.
2.
Use my US, ITA, FR, UK Sim cards in this new hTC DHD (now it doesn't even allow me to "open" my phone).
I am not interested in cool skins, faster CPU speeds, non std apps etc. All I want is to be able to FULLY (unlimited data plans etc) use my new phone with any Sim and my new Sim with any Phone.
Can anyone, PLEASE, reccommend me which < METHOD> is the simplest and easiest?
Rooting?
Rooting + flashing?
Unlock codes you can buy online?
Sim adapters?
Any combination?
Any other?
I have heard everything and the contrary of everything.
