Yeah if the speaker area is muffled then you won't even notice that the phone is ringing even if you have a mp3 set as the ringtone... I'm going back to the included ringtones cause they seem louder.. until I edit my own mp3s into ringtone ( the part of the song that I want to use ).

Its loud when u have the screen facing down. I dont wannt my screen to mess up by doing that

I think it depends on the ringtone but mine is pretty low .

if you put the screen face down, it doesn't even touch the surface you set it on. you could try setting it on the case if you're really worried about it. :)

go to your settings and go to calling settings and turn on vibrate when you get a all so you can feel it vibrate if you don't hear your phone/

There is an app coming to resolve this issue.

It is a simple fix to move the speaker to the front.

My blackberry curve was a lot louder. It was so loud, I had never used the loudest setting, and it was still louder than G1's loudest setting. plus G1's vibration is really weak, I can't feel anything unless I have it in my hand.
I missed couple things because I didn't get a phone call, emails, alarm on time.

hahahahaha...this is too funny. either you have a defective phone or I'd suggest getting your hearing checked out. the ringer is annoyingly loud and also, the vibrate alert works damn good. as good as my MDA

im thinking about modifying the case that came with it by making a hole where the speaker is. i usually toss my phone into my purse and when i dont the baby often finds it and tries to put it in her mouth. i like the case because im afraid of messing it up but i cant hear it! i used wavepad to amplify my ringtones to 300% today so hopefully that will help. i simply cannot keep the phone on me at all times. i likes my old pearl because i could leave it in my purse all the time and hear it ringing all over the house. i didnt even use it on the loudest setting. i miss calls when i am holding the phone in my hand! the case seems to absorb the vibration too so that is also sort of useless for me.
