text message notifications ... ?

has anybody gotten text message notifications to work? i have it set to notify and vibrate and i set the ringtone, but nothing happens when i get a text message. im and email work fine.

make a folder on ya sd card "notifications" then put the tones u want on there.

I use a mp3 for my text and it works just fine. I had a background on my lx and the hing sound of a lightsaber goes off with all text.

if the notification sound is longer, does the vibration go for a longer amount of time too?

You might want to try either or both of these - I'm not sure what overlap they may have if any.

Pull your window shade over to reveal all of your icons, select Setting. Make sure all of your volumn slide bars are maxed out.

Another option is to select your Messaging icon, use the Menu key to bring up the submenu, scroll over to Settings, at the bottom of the menu you'll see Notifications as well as Select Ringtones.
