G1 Bricked!! OTA UD Question!?

Ok, so it bricked. The cat knocked it off the table and it fell all of 5 inches and bricked itself. Dead phone. $400 paperweight. Wont come on, just a bunch of verticle lines, only way to shut off is to take th battery out.

So i cant fix it... :mad::(:mad:

So i got t-mo to send me a replacement and am sending this one back to them to go to HTC.

Heres my question... Obviously i am going to miss the update that everyone is expecting. So how do i get it resent? Will i go back into the que when i activate the new one, will it already be in the air waiting for me to turn the phone on? Or will i flat out miss it because of the different IMEI numbers being different?

This person's post says it won't be sent again... Ok, so whats the deal? how do i get the replacment G1 updated since i was suppose to be one the ones getting it by the 26th but wont have my phone till probably the 28th. Any suggestions? The t-mo rep i spoke really didnt even have any idea about the update or anything.

well seeing how there are people out there waiting on the 2nd round of preorders..and alot of people getting replacement phones, Im sure you have nothing to worry about...

When will I get mine? If you participated in the PreSale, you will receive it between the 23rd-25th otherwise you should get it by 10/31. For those receiving their devices after that date you should receive the update soon after you activate the phone (within 2 - 3 days). New phones from HTC will come pre-loaded with the update.

No worries, all new G1's should have update preinstalled. The one your getting should have it already.

It was already announced phones shipping after a certain date will already have the update performed. You should be fine. The update only pertained to the AmazonMP3 store problem anyhow... though we haven't completely confirmed it
