when I get a call the phone will vibrate then the song plays but the vol is so low and even the vibrate sounds louder . Yes I have it all the way up. Also same with the text message vol is low. Also it locks everytime u end call which is annoying . Why can't it have a lock timer like the iPhone ?

I have no issues with the volume on my G1. Find someone also with a G1 and compare. If you have a problem call TMO CS and get a replacement.

It might just be my ringtone since it's a full song and u can't edit it at a spec part. But text vol is pretty low .

Try using WavePad. It's a great program that lets you make audio files. Also, you can amplify audio files. That way you can make the tone that you've created louder.
Btw: You use WavePad on a Pc then drag and drop the created files on your microSd card.

all nuts I thought wavelad was a app that would of been sweet. I'll just wait for a app to costomize songs for ringtones.

RingDroid was available through MarketPlace, not anymore for some reason. It did exactly what your looking for.

Why they removed it?

Most likely it has to be updated like the apps that were removed before launch.
I find it to be too loud in my opinion, maybe it's just that I hate anything loud in general.

I just found this thread using the SEARCH feature. :) Anyways, Im also having the same issue as far as the ringtone volume goes, It is very low and its quite annoying. Im starting to think it's some type of defect in the speaker, Cause i have a few friends that have the same issue. I dont see why we need app's to fix this problem when this problem should be fixed with the hardware. :)

It could also be the kbps of the music file, but I doubt you guys are using any low ones, at least 128 kbps should suffice. I'm not having any problems with mine and it woke me up this morning, so my volume is fine.
@RussianSolja: They are talking about ringdroid. You make ringtones in the app w/o needing a computer.

Don't think it's a speaker defect since when I play the same audio file in the music player it plays pretty loud. I'm having the same problem with it being too low for me to here, if it's insided a pouch, forget bout it.

To make loud ringtones you can simply use this online editor (http://makeownringtone.com)
It's simple, no downloading.
