About the sliding screen

I used the search feature and could not find anything on this topic.

Sometimes when I let the screen slide to access the keyboard I just use le left thumb to nudge the screen up and let the screen slam against the chin. Other times I guide the screen with my right hand all the way up.

Just wondering if its bad to just let the screen flip up and slam against the chin or not?

I'm pretty sure they designed it to be slammed. The hinge on this thing is VERY sturdy it seems.

Thats what I figured. I usually try to guide the screen up because the slamming sound created by the screen against the chin just makes me cringe a little and think that the hinge might break.

I guess I just love my G1 so much I'm ultra paraniod about it breaking on me before I get to really enjoy it :D

I actually love that sound. It slams in with authority and says "Hey...i'm ready to f@&#$ng type $h#*"

Well, not really, but it sounds nice, haha.

Classic...I love when I'm waiting for the bus, or eating lunch in a crowded restaurant, and I whip out the G1, and **FWaPAp!!** I start typing and all eyes are on me and my phone...muahahahhahahhahaha

I guess I just overreacted. I'm one of two people that got one where I work and in my town so everyone at work freaked me out when I opened the screen and they asked what that loud slapping sound was. Then one guy looked at the hinge and said it look flimly. I told him it was sturdy, but then I started to think that it wasn't :(
