i have a question ... does anyone noe if u need to have a data plan to get the ota or can i juz be connected to wifi

good question, anyone? I'm going to say that yes, you do need the data plan, but I am honestly not too sure.

i have the data plan, but i want to know HOW TO GET THIS OTA AND UPDATED EVERYONE HAS BEEN TALING ABOUT in general. i got my g1 the 22nd, and havent recived anythinggggg!

Most still have not got it. Like many many threads have already said, you will get it, if you didnt get it yet, wait, and then if you dont get it after that wait longer.

As for the wifi, im sure as long as your connected to the internet, and have service, you will get it. The update shouldent care how your connected, as alot of people will have internet off period.

I don't think that you need a data plan. Previously when I had my T-mo Dash Windows Mobile 6. A Service Rep did an OTA upgrade even though I didn't have a data plan.
