Would you really sacrifice selling your newly made app to a 3rd party distributor? It is true, your profits would increase; but is that where the buyers are?

MobileApps.com (http://androidcommunity.com/forums/f27/how-does-a-95-profit-cut-for-your-android-app-sound-mister-developer-45711/#post357450) boasts a 95% payout, and compared to the Google Market payout of 70%, the extra cash could really add up. Unfortunately, it seems most people that own an android devices don't really even know there are other alternatives than the included Market.

I know you guys probably want a bigger cut for all your hard work, but do you really think that extra cash per download will outweigh the publicity of your app going viral in the Android Market?

Integrated marketplace works amazingly for Apple - why is it an issue for people on Android to want alternatives? Why doesn't Android have a desktop Android Marketplace?
