I've heard some have this problem. It may be because its hook up to your pc? That was one persons problem. Try taking it out and reinstalling it a few times. It'll probably clear.

Is it the one that came with your phone? The 1 GB one? If so I had this problem also the first time I tried using the card. Go into your phone settings and go to settings > SD card and Phone storage , make sure you have the use for USB storage option checked on....you may want to toggle that option off then restart your phone then go back into the settings and turn it on the restart your phone again just so it recognizes that you want it on, that should work, it did for me....

If it is not the factory card that came with your phone, you may want to try the factory one just to test that the reader works, if it works with the factory one you know its an issue with the card you are currently using. You may have to re format the after market card if you want to use it in the G1.

I think you have to toggle that setting on and off. I noticed when hooked up to the pc, you need USB storage on. And when downloading or choosing pictures from the phone's interface, you need it off. I hope this will be part of the OTA fix they are putting out now.

I'm having the same problem with mine, but I got an rc28 and it is the card that came along with the phone, plus whenever I try to move files from computer or ps3 it will give me an error. Any tips on what to do or how to format it?

My card died today too.

Technical support say tuff sh*t buy another one.

Actually, I'll buy another phone. Sending it back today within my 7-day guarantee.

Ok result:

I was left on hold for 20 mins and then cut off (after being told they wouldn't replace the card, I kicked up a fuss, he went to talk to somebody else then left me sitting there for 20 mins and eventually cut me off)

Anyway, I rang back and spoke to somebody else.

He also told me that accessories arn't covered under the warranty, he looked at the accessories list and noticed that the SD card is not listed as an accessory - why? - because its part of the G1 package.

So, he said they can't replace it because they don't have any stock, now from what I'd been told before I kicked up a stink about tech support telling me I had to go and buy my own card.

This is when I realised, the SD card is not listed as an accessory because it comes with the package, because the phone cannot operate properly without it - the camera kicks up a fuss, and other things.

The fact that its part of the phone 'Package' means that its not an independant accessory, its part of the phone.

Going on this route the guy has agreed the best resolution is to replace the whole phone. So I'm exchanging the phone tomorrow for a brand new one with a working SD card.

Seems mad to me that they wouldn't just give me a new SD Card, buy I don't care, I just want what I've paid for.

So, to all you people out there, get on the phone and stand up for your rights.
