I liked the way my aim was on my lx better!

it really sucks that u cant see ur buddies lil buddy icons or if there mobile or not! it doesnt show u an icon of a cell phone or nothing next to there screen names! also u cant move ur buddies where u want them to be or set a custom away message do u know if this will be fixed? i go on aim on my lx and never on my g1 because of this!

Yeah, IMing on the SK was much better than the G1. I imagine there will be a better IM app released in the near future. Just be patient.

Hey just be glad your AIM actually works right one the G1..

Some of ours is soo bugged up that we can't even IM people on our buddy list.

You're right though, AIM is better on the sidekick. But for some reason i have hope for the G1

I agree, it sucks compared to my LX. and when it does log in, it says nobody is online. Which is crazy. BUT google talk works with no problem. Imagine That

Me too. I thought this was supposed to be better. Hopefully it's because they just haven't taken the time to get this right- The sidekick is a mature platform. This (and Yahoo!) simply *Has* to be fixed in the near future. This makes me virtually unobtainable now, where I was always available with the sidekick.

yeah i think the aim on the lx was the best.. ability to save and email convos etc etc, hopefully a 3rd party app releases, and this also goes for the yim and msn messengers also.. gtalk is fine and all but majority of my buddies who i talk to on messengers doesnt have gtalk on their phones

I told people over and over this isn't a Sidekick and everyone wanted to keep making that comparision. This device was made by HTC and Google, Danger or Sharp had nothing to do with the hardware nor software. You can easily just send it back and continue to use your sidekick lx, you're not the only one though. A lot of sidekick users are feeling the burn.

I don't use AIM either, so I'm not effected by it. But Gtalk isn't consistent. I was sitting next to my friend and his phone showed I wasn't online, when I actually was. I don't know, I'm just waiting for updates. For those lx users...sidekick is the best phone out there for their instant messaging, no other phone can compare. But thats all it did. If you want a phone that does a magnitude of things, then thats why you have the G1. Its a trade off which a lot of people don't understand.

Damn, I need to check out Meebo. I definitely miss AIM on my SK, but there's a few other things I miss more. Specifically the ease to switch between apps. Jump + S and im texting, Jump + A and im in AIM, it was quick and painless. The G1 has been anything but.

That said, I still like the phone and will stick with it, I imagine once the kinks are worked out and the early adopters are heard that Google/Devs will really make this phone shine.

i agree the sidekick aim is second to none well except maybe blackberrys beejive aim app but sidekick still takes the cake these days but beejive is thinking about creating their own aim instant messaging app they just want to see the success of the andriod software. but hopefully google takes aim and realizes that many sidekick users left thier sidekicks in hope of the g1 being a sidekick 2 although most probaly didnt do there research on the g1 prior to buying it someone will take notice. personally i dont care i use aim but if i dont have it my world aint ending si can easily text my friends who will recieve on thier........sidekicks
