I had an HTC Hero with Photo Vault on it. When I got my new Evo, I reset my Hero, knowing the media would be left on my memory card. What i forgot is that Photo Vault pulls all hidden photos and puts them in the Photovault > Private folder on the memmory card, and does not leave them in the basic photo folder like the public ones. So long story short, I have the files (.pth) on my computer/memory card and I cannot re-download Photo Vault onto the Hero to convert them back to regular photo format because the phone is not active.

I did, however try downloading Photo Vault onto my Evo and adding the pictures into the folder.. and they did not show up in the Evo's Photo Vault application.

So does anyone have any ideas on how I can convert these files back into photos?

tl;dr How can i convert .pth files back to photos? I have a Computer and an Evo with network access.

So I connected the Hero to Wifi and was able to download photo vault again. Added the photos back to the folder on the memory card and they will not show up. Also went into the settings and tried at "add missing private photos" and nothing.

You should really email the developer of the app. The developer is very responsive and willing to help. I'm guess ing you should be able to just "rename" the files to change the file type back to .jpg and have them work. I know when I use Ubuntu it reads the hidden files as if they are .jpg and I think I tried just changing the filetype once before and it worked...
