Is there a removable film over the camera lens?

It looks like my camera lens on my new G1 might have a film over it. I am too scared to start peeling away at it without knowing for sure. Can anyone confirm?

it does look like there's something in there. plasticky looking. but can't peel something

It's a reflective surface to be used as a "mirror" if you're doing a self portrait. I thought the same thing, but slightly scuffed mine and realized there's no film on it.
