so here's the question why does my G1 think I'm at the mall when I know that I'm at work?

I had the gps satellite enabled and the gps was about 4 miles off. So I tried using the gps on wifi... even worse 7 miles. (guessing that this was due to servers located for work being approximately where the gps thought it was).
Other than at work, it located the house fine. the dog park was a little off, put me in the middle of the mystic river instead of 100 yards or so away in the park. but i couldn't convince the gps that i really was at work.

is anyone else having this problem or have any ideas on what's going on? is there a way to manually tell the gps that i haven't gone on a shopping spree?

go to settings then security and location and uncheck use wireless networks. i think it first tries to get your location using the phone towers and then GPS. mine was way off also, but then i turned off the wireless network option and let it sit with google maps open to my location for a while and it eventually found the satellites it needed to get my location exactly right. after that it hasnt taken all that long to find my location via GPS

Mine showed me located at the house and very accurately walking 200' to the shop.
