24 to 48 hours for g1 data to kick in

so cant get into app store (stays loading on terms of service screen) and cant get into browser (loads with staus bar that never moves) and when i called CC they said my data plan is still provisioning and takes up to 48 hours to kick in???/ anyone else have this issue ??

Mine started working right away.. a friend of mine had same problem for several hours.

When I first got the phone I couldn't even sign into my Google account for 3 hours. So I called and they said it can take up to 48 hours, but mostly it shouldnt take that long.

I went online and added the data plan myself. The site said up to 48 hour to start but worked in like 20 mins...maybe even less.

what the hell i guess ill try again tomorrow, i know it has nothing to do with sim card? mines is older but the 3g shows up on phone

They told me that line for a day and FINALLY I asked if they had even activated my sim card......well turns out they hadn't and as soon as they did it worked! Everyone was very polite though...even if they were wrong :)

with all the people getting this thing, its putting a little more stress on the systems. Normally its supposed to be 24 to 48, but a lack of traffic can speed that up to 3 minutes. When I worked for Skynet... I'm mean Att, it happened alot when the iPhone 3g came out. No biggie but I can see your concerns

lol. I havent been able to access my web, etc. Without use of wifi, even with 3G coverage. And I saw this thread, and decided to check out my T-mobile account...

Still had me listed with my old phone, and NO data plan listed. That is probably the reason. I updated, including the phone and hopefully that should fix it.

Most times on other phones I have had with data plans, it worked right away. The CSR's are required to tell you the 24-48 hour possible delay for a "just-in-case" kind of thing.

I was told if you try to access the browser and it doesn't work, you can just power down the phone, remove the battery and wait a couple minutes before re-installing and powering back on. This worked for my wife's BB Curve... instant access!
