Question about applications running?

how do i know if any applications are running? is there an option like a task manager to see which ones are running or not?

I don't have my G1 yet but i believe you push and hold the home button.

You hold the home button down. Give your manual a read, it'll help.

There is an app in the App Market called Task Switcher, But only thing is you cant close the apps that are running in the backround. :( Go to the market and download that app. It's really helpful when wanting to multi-task. :)

ok i did hold the home buttom down and saw 6 applications how do i stop them from running?
