I've done tests against a friend's 3G iPhone. It appears that the AT&T 3G Network is faster, but somehow, the G1 manages to continously load pages faster than the iPhone. I've also noticed that my G1 3G speeds were consistent while the AT&T speeds were quite erratic.

One must remember too, that the G1 browser is a Chrome derivative:-)

my buddy was an iphone, so we did a test, we both loaded cnet.com, not only did the G1 beat the iphone in speed (G1 came up first by about 6 seconds) but the iphone went to the mobile version of cnet.com, The G1 loaded the full version. this was in NYC.

just saw that video, the page was loaded already, all he did was just retype the address, if you look carefully as soon as his finger touches the go button the page is already loaded it is just reloading the same page in essence he is refreshing.

But to be fair i want to see this test done on both phones that have been just booted.
