So Heres my email to tMobile:
Dear T-Mobile,
This is my second inquiry about my purchase of the g1 handset that was promised to be overnight shipped to me by the Pueblo,Colorado Store. After waiting in line for four hours in thirty degree weather, I was able to purchase the g1 for $394.00, which is a pretty hefty price for waiting in the line for that long, but at the time I thought it was worth it, or so I thought. I called this store the night before to ask about the g1 and they said if I were to buy one in the morning it would be overnighted to me and I would receive it Thursday, October 23rd. Well today October 23rd, after being PROMISED by the the retail store that the handset would be in fact overnighted to my house,I come to find out I was lied to. Not only was it not overnighted like promised, but it hasn't even shipped yet. I was not the only customer promised this "overnight shipping", every one else in that line was too. After talking with a 611 customer service agent, I then spoke to their supervisor trying to find out why I was promised a delivery date and in fact it still hasn't even shipped, I was told that they will be waiving my $18.00 upgrade fee. After getting off the phone with the supervisor I realized waiting in a line from 4:30 AM until the doors opened at 8 AM really wasn't worth the $18.00 compensation and the time I wasted. I really don't think it is acceptable to promise loyal customers that have been with you for several years that a product will be at their door the next day, if in fact it won't be true.

Calm down. Use paragraph breaks.

LMAO:)
That really sucks though. Usually T-mobiles service is top-notch. Have you even gotten any type of tracking number from them?

What??? WHY? That makes no frickin sense to do that, unless you like waiting in 30 degree weather for no reason, and paying twice as much for something.

that was copyed out of their contact us form, you can only have a certain amount of characters lol that explains the size and no paragraphs

lol...
as far as not getting your phone, a lot of people are in the same boat... but preorders after october 3rd should've known that getting their phone on nov 10th when they could've gone to a store was already acknowledged...
you know what the crappier thing is? customers did get their phones shipped out like the in store reps promised you, when customers that preordered after october 3rd still have to wait...
I wouldn't really call it bad customer service, I would call it misinformation... theres a reason t-mobile's customer service has been award winning for years in a row... out of the 8 years i've had them, i'd say 10 percent of the time i've had issues with them that made me upset... hardly anything to cry about

yeah they are typically pretty good, but this just makes me mad considering I called and ask this store so many times if they could for sure overnight it, and they said yes, and they don't have any idea when it will being shipped out

yah, it sucks... a lot of companies don't have their employees in line with each other... only way to get around it is, expect problems sadly... i tend to not get too dissappointed when i don't expect much out of somebody, which isn't exactly a great philosophy on life but it works most the time... if they do something for me faster than what they told me, all the better, lol...
i don't think you can blame them though... a lot of people really did get theirs shipped out that fast that were in the same situation as you, just can't really help it and theres no single person that can give you a solid answer or prediction... same thing with the preorders that took place after october 3rd, some people got them already, some people really have to wait until november tenth

You've got to remember that there is very, very, VERY high demand for this device. T-Mobile are scrambling to get the G1's themselves.
Patience is a virtue. T-Mobile is renown for it's customer service, they are just having a tough time with the demand at the moment and that's acceptable.

Not when they promise, and cant have an explanation for when it will be shipped or even be ready to be shipped

It could possibly be shipped and halfway to your house. UPS is also known for being lazy in scanning ;)

I hate to say it but some people will find anything in the world to complain about. Seriously, how will your world be affected if you get the phone a day or two later than you hoped for? Seriously?
In fact mine arrived 2 days early. I was pretty shocked at that. T-Mobile has done everything they could possibly do to win and keep my service over the past several years. I did a lot of research into my purchase before I bought this phone. I was aware of the possibility of shipping delays, I expected problems with the hardware/software, and I bought the phone with these things in mind. I have been pleasantly surprised that my expectations have not only been met but have been greatly exceeded.
Seriously, I just want to know what will change in your life by not being the first kid on the block to have this phone. Maybe real issues could be resolved if the CS Reps weren't tied up with people complaining about petty things?
My 2 cents. Keep the change.

i think the main thing that pisses him off is waiting in sub freezing conditions for a few hours and being told that he would get his phone shipped out asap, and didn't... but then again he does live in an area where it is the norm for the temperature to be like that
other than that i agree with you

all i know is that if someone is sold out of something or the item is backordered tell the customer ahead of time, then maybe they wont be pissed when you dont come through with the product

like i said, there is no way for them to know... just get over it, there is no end all be all CS rep at pretty much any company... you go all the way up to the CEO, he probably doesn't know because companies are ecosystems in themselves... the reps were led to believe that they would be shipped out because thats what they were told was happening, there was no news letter or memo that the store nearby me was aware of...

well as a corporation or an employee of a corporation they shouldnt make promises to people if they dont think their company cant follow through

To tell you the truth, Tmobile stores do not have great customer service. At least not the few around me in RI. But whenever i call 611 they take very good care of me and make me feel good about being a customer. Maybe you should call 611 again and explain the situation and tell them you think after all this you deserve the upgrade price. If they person does not agree ask to speak to their supervisor. I was given a $100 credit on a phone because of being mis informed about something. The $100 was the mail in rebate but it was something i didn't have to pay for. maybe they will hook you up.
I can understand the problem with the delays and back orders, but he was promised something that he did not get. The company should resolve the problem and take the lost. cause they will lose out eventually if the customer goes to another network.

I kinda take offense to this thread I work for T-Mobile CS and am #5 in the country right now as we speak. The store told you this missinfo not CS you need to go to that stores manager and if that doesnt work get the contact info for the DM. I get calls all the time from upset customers because the store told them this or that. Also ALWAYS go to a corp store the authorized dealers will tell you anything just to make the sale (same with anyother company). if you go through a store for a handset you would have to get the phone from them they cannot order and ship to you the only way that happens is if they call CS and have us order the phone. Even then we have UPS ground or 3 day express T-Mobile CS does not offer any kind of overnight shipping option. I am sorry to hear this had happened to you but the most you might get is a $10 one time courtsy credit since we have no way to full fill the promises that were made.
