Hi everyone. I'm looking at buying a mobile phone and it seems one with an android os is the way to go. But, I need to know if android has certain features available to me...

I'm paralyzed from my shoulders down, I cannot use my arms or hands.
I have a PC mouse that I control using my mouth.

To get some privacy and independence back in my daily activities, I'd love to be able link my phone to my PC and use some type of interface on my PC to send/receive the text messages and make/answer the calls.

Is this even possible?
Thanks for any help.

Matt

I would say you could do this as long as you use the integrated google voice app and interface. You can send/receive sms's via voice.google.com and make calls on your pc via googletalk.

Doesn't the Samsung Galaxy S and Kies do something like this? (I'm sure I recall seeing something about it - double check though)

There was also an attempt to get VNC (a common form of remote desktop control) running on it some time ago. It might be worth searching for that. But be careful - most, if not all, of the hits you find will be the reverse of this - i.e. connecting to your computer remotely from your phone with VNC. I do this all the time.
