Intermittent Ticking Noise?

Just wondering if anyone else has gotten this. Every once and a while, I get an audible ticking noise coming from my G1. I was wondering what it was, so I removed the battery cover, and it seemed that a piece of film, or lens, or something on the camera was making a rattling noise like it was constantly trying to focus. I could see the little piece move. Very strange. If I access the camera and exit it goes away. Just curious if anyone else has had this.

i have only heard that noise when using shop savvay when the camera is trying to scan the barcode

OMFG! This was driving me crazy last night! I haven't heard/noticed it today, but last night it just seemed so loud in my apartment. It was seriously driving me insane. LOL.

Might be radio interference with the speaker, I know that happens sometimes if I am getting a text or update and I am near my computer speakers. Might want to have it checked tho.

Ok, thought it was me. And yes, it happens after I have used ShopSaavy. maybe it's a small bug in the app?

I thought it was the speaker at first as well, or maybe [dun dun dun] the battery, but no. It's definitely the auto-focus mechanism. With the battery cover off, you can see it actually moving in and out to focus. It's just kind of annoying. Maybe I'll steer clear of ShopSaavy for a while and see what happens.

most likely, did you make sure to hit the back button to get out of shopsavvay or did you just hit the home button? if you just hit the home button it would probably still be running in the background until it gets its barcode

Very possible. I'll have to do some tests tonight. Justw anted to make sure I wasn't hearing things, haha.

You sure it's not while you're using ShopSavvy or any other program to scan barcodes.

Mine does it too, but its only using it when I use Compare Everywhere. And if you pay attention when the camera focuses that's when it clicks.

we are bound to hear stuff when playing with phones for 18 hours a day............just not in this case

same here. i can hear the camera while its being used but otherwise its silent

Yea, it's definitely when the phone is on the home screen. It did it last night when the phone was locked as well.
