Well, I know that even though ATT required you to get their data plan when purchasing a BB, they allowed you to cancel it after the first month. Was wondering if its the same with T-Mo?! I was using the $5.99 T-Zones proxy hack on my Dash and was very satisfied with it. Sure, I was stuck to EDGE, but it sufficed most of my needs. Anyone know if this proxy hack will be doable with the G1?

Don't know what the proxy hack is but phone's OS is open source and all that cool stuff so it grants developers more freedom than your BB/Dash would've had only a matter of time before it over runs the iPhone on number of apps... i hope...

Don't think they'll allow it. Probably use the dreaded "kill switch" if you somehow got it. Its a cash cow for Tmobile as well. I don't think they'd let that go too

I don't know about that. It seems like you can turn any beverage, snack or musical instrument into an app on iphoney. We're stuck with lame apps that actually DO stuff. Who wants that? Wheres the harpsichord app? WTFOMG!

Google released the entire OS source code. You should be able to cut out the kill switch. What they can or will do to combat that is anyone's guess.

All the proxy hack really does is changing the protocol so they could make port 80 available. Since this is an open source open, I am quite sure it is possible. It was done on the iphone w/ tmobile.
