Hi all, I am thinking about buying an extended battery for my Samsung Vibrant and was wondering; are they safe? I was looking at http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Vibrant-T959-Extended-Battery/dp/B0043Y02LQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1290540842&sr=8-1

Does that look OK or do you have a better suggestion for me? I don't mind spending a bit more to get one that a) will give me the longest life on my phone and b) won't make my phone burst into flames! Thanks for any suggestions you might have,

Phil

Generally, I prefer the original one. It's also ok to have other solid brands products.

Thanks for that. So an extended battery IS ok? And which brands would you describe as 'solid'?

Thanks again,

Phil

I would only advise buying cheap Chinese aftermarket batteries if you are on a tight budget and really need to carry a spare to make it through the day. I've used them myself before without any incident. But always remember never to step out of the house with your phone still plugged in and charging the cheap battery. It's a fire hazard. And don't use the phone while it is charging. Remember the poor kid that got killed when he answered his phone when it was charging and it exploded.
