A Couple Of Droid X Questions

I'm considering getting a Droid X from Verizon to replace a crappy Samsung flip-phone and I have a couple of questions -

1. Is PDANet a good choice for tethering?

2. I would like to play movies on the Droid. I can rip DVDs using Aunsoft DVD Ripper and put them into MP4 - Is there any kind of DVD playback app for the Droid? Something like WinDVD for the PC?

3. What and where is the "Android Market" for apps?
