The phone does have some things i would like to see it have, most notibly probably turn by turn navi like my iPhone, but i know it will come, i got my phone on the 20th, and since then it has exploded with things including updates.
I have had every OS (WM5,6 symbian, BB, OSX, Palm, etc etc) and to date, this is already my favorite, it will only get better from here, and its already great.
/thread (the phone has been out for 1 day)

Blackberry...ugh. I think you'll look back on this decision and regret it. Remember, opensource means that it'll only get better from here. More choices.

Not mad at you. Previously, I had a Blackberry Curve and It really got the job done. I'm pretty sure the Javelin is going to be phat. lol

Not so much, Especially if he's a business user. Blackberry's have time and time again delivered on the part of email & messaging. I say the G1 is your basic consumers device, I really don't find it appealing on a business standpoint.

It's Ok Its Not Your Type Of Phone I Can Understand That... But Remember Most Phones Such As The iPhone or Blackberry Have Had Many Years To Get Where They Are At... Android Is Still Brand New and Shiny  Most If Not All Features That The iPhone Has The Android OS Had/Has Already... Just Imagine In a Year Or Two What Could Be Accomplished... ;)

Wow, did your crystal ball tell you that? Last I checked RIM was the #1 smartphone seller in the US and top 5 internationally. I know RIM's are not the hottest things for the consumer market but they will always have their niche which is the business market.

Don't kid yourself. RIM has some real competition. Even the US gov which uses BB exclusively are now looking into switching to Iphones. Apple and Google have changed the game. Windows Mobile was the first to take a real hit and you can see RIM following suit unless they reinvent themselves.

apple outsold rim the last quarter. that damn bb flip was a bb flop haa they better hope that the storm does something. it prob will because bb has a bunch of loyal peeps.

hey man its all good. its too bad you only had a 14 day window. maybe you should just continue to use ur old phone and see what happens with the android OS in the next 6 months. that way you don't lose your upgrade and u can get an android power phone for the upgrade price.
