Sorry if this is a re-post, I did a search but came empty...

Here's the issue I'm having.

I'll charge the battery to a full 100%, turned off wifi, gps, and 3G. I'll then unplug the charger, and put the phone into sleep mode. I'll come back to my phone 5min later to find out it's now at 85% battery life. I just don't understand this?

Yes, I have a few apps, but they're 2 games, and Any Cut, but I don't think those apps stay running for any reason that it cause power being drained from my battery.

Anyone else having this problem, or where I may look to find out what's going on...?

Thanks.

my battery has been all right not the best not the worst its been off the charger since like 1030am and right now is 3pm and i used it for minor text, minor map, minor webrowser and minor app. i don't think it should be at 56% though.

After I did my factor reset thanks to a retarded bug, the phone can go on for at least 5 hours without dropping to 50%. Now that I have loaded another 20 apps, it takes maybe 2 hours before dropping to 50%. I honestly think the G1 runs every single program as soon as you start it up. I have some proof too. Last night, I downloaded iSafe. Ran it, pretty cool. Then I noticed I couldn't shut it down. So I pulled the battery and rebooted the G1. Guess what? As soon as I drove through a questionable area, it alerted me! It wasn't supposed to be running after a reboot like that!!

How long did you let your battery charge? I have wifi turned on, GPS turned on, 3G turned on (but my office has crappy 3G and is currently on EDGE). My battery is at about 88%. I unplugged it from the charger at 6am this morning, and it is now 12:13pm. I have only did minimal goofing around with it today. Checked the store, checked a text message, played with Google Maps for about 20 mins.

Yesterdays use:

Used until it had about 30% left (from yesterday's charge) and then put on the charger about 1:00pm.

Removed fully charged at 3:00pm.

Went to the coffee shop and browsed, downloaded and played all of the games and made several calls up to 20 minutes long. ALmost 2 hours of full use without ever sleeping.

Went to my friends house and showed him all the bells and whistles, used every function on the phone and every app that was cool. Turned off 3G at his house because he didn't have a good signal. There for about an hour and a half.

Went out to a show (Jim Rose's Most Interesting Show...see it if it comes through). Two people in line desperately interested. One girl wanted it. Another guy was on the Nov 10th pre-order list.

Two more complete demos while we waited in line for an hour.

Inside the show turned off 3G and frequently checked messages and app store for the video app.

Left the show at midnight and drove home, using Shazaam several times on the car radio.

Got home to plug in with 36% charge left.

That's 10 hours of as much as I ever would use the device. Try that with a laptop. And this is not a phone. It's a little computer.

Yep, phones last longer. But phones are phones.

And the G1...is the G1.

check out my post.. battery reports

http://androidcommunity.com/forums/f7/battery-reports-4136/

What I did is when it got to 100% I unplugged it, in 15 min it got down to about 85%.

I think if it goes over night.. like waaaay over 100% it will last a little longer.
Thats my theory tho.

Whew!!! I thought it was just MY G1 that had lousy battery life!! I'm sorry we're all experiencing it, but am sort'a glad that I'm not the only one..... I guess I was just use'ta my old BlackBerry, (that didn't have all these 'bells & whistles), it's battery could go for a couple'a days between charges. Looks like I'll be investing in a few extra batteries!!!!!

Wow, that's pretty impressive battery performance. Can you train my battery to do the same? Maybe there is someone called the 'battery whisperer' to help out the rest of us. j/k :p

ok I was readin on these battery issues and I found a post on how to fix it googling on monday when i got my phone My battery on a charge now goes from 8 am till 8 pm withought getting below 25% mark with heavy use between (8 am -11am) and again from 6pm to 8pm. Here is what you do...

Lithium Ion Batterys are filled with this turbo juice that gives it its power what you have to do is this. You must let your phone battery die completely within your first week of owning it once it dies from no more power you then charge it to its full capacity what this does is that it Calibrates the Meter in your Lithium battery...

You see right know the battery does not know how much energy it has from packaging shipping they usually give it a half a charge but depending on storage it being tossed around etc. the battery gets confused so when you Calibrate it it will give you just as much time as the Manual says its supposed to give you...

So all you android users remember to Calibrate your battery atleast once and trust me you will see a difference.
