so today in school I had gym last pd . I forgot my lock so I didn't wanna leave my g1 in the locker room with all these thiefs in my school. So I gave It to my friend to hold and while I was giving him it I showed him how to use the browser . Well one of the gym teacher saw it and ask me to give it to him( Rule in my school called bag and tag). So I said no and ran away . But he called a admistrator to get me and take me to the office. So now I might get suspended bc it was my second time in the office . Arrr how dumb can someone get? What would u do? Give up your phone and only a parent or gardiancan pick up? Or just said no.

Ps sorry for spelling/grammar I'm typeing from my iPod touch.

that is pretty lame, but rules are rules....Was class started for you or were you in passing period? cause if they did that while you were in between classes I would totally call BS on that

i would say no as well, they used to do that to me in high school and 1 thing my uncle taught me is to never give your things to school staff, they will lose it, **** it up and it still your fault so good job on saying no.

i do agree with carlos, I've had teachers want to take my phone and hold it with them till the end of class which i dont think is as big a deal. But I would never trust the office to hold something like that.

inform your parents and have them speak with the pricipal, have them be irate and demanding that you had the right to keep it for those reasons and because it is an expensive piece of technology..

if they are firm enough nothing will happen.

I graduated high school back in 2002, but they had a similar rule.

Tried enforcing it on me once. I informed them that the rules of the state supersede those of the school, any attempt to confiscate would be considered theft, and I was completely willing to press charges.

"There is no loophole which states it's cool to steal a woman's purse, if your intent is only to put it in a ziplock bag and return it after six hours. You still go to jail."

Not sure what would have actually gone down, but neither were they. They gave up and told me to just put the phone away.

You little kids don't know how to act when you get new things. Shouldn't have brought it to school if you knew they were strict. ;)

Rules are rules or so they say but i am going to be a teacher soon (in college now) and i think my own "rule" is to talk to students like they are adults (if they will act like it) and if you had explained that you jusr needed a place to put it i would understand.

some times things like that can be a distraction but some times they are out for a reason (hence your situation) its sad to me that alot of teachers wont talk to and listen to students like adults. they will be in the real world soon enough why treat them like inmates?

sorry to hear about your problem i hope things work out

haha, pulling legal stuff on teachers and school staff like that is always fun, I volunteered at my local sheriffs office for a while and got to know the laws really well. Even if you know what you are saying isn't true, if you sound like you know its a fact most times they will believe you. but then again lying is bad, so i didnt actually say that :-D

lol trust me here when I say you’re wrong schools and school districts can have rules that apply in the school (for example this one the Bag n Tag) it’s because while in school all children have an equal right to learn and if one student has something that may distract others from learning the teacher has the right to protect the other students right to not be distracted.

If the police were called (they wouldn’t do anything) and even if it were taken to court (at least here) the judge would rule in favor of the teacher and or school.

If you have a phone at school because of a family emergency or anything like that you need to inform your teachers you have it and it is set to silent.

If you just have it at school and it is out they can take it (it’s not theft) it will be given to the parent later.

rules are rules.
From your side of the story, yes its a big deal.
But still, rules are rules. If you get away with it, so can other.. one by one u end up with chaos.
Im sure if you would've turned OFF your phone, went to teacher before class, told him about the situation.. he would've locked it somewhere. BUT if the rules are no CELL phones, why would u risk ur g1? :/

It's cool man, you just have to be careful. I was hardheaded too lol. My mom used to always get on me about taking expensive gadgets to school. While I can't knock you because I know how it is. I'm just saying if you are going to do it make it less obvious, and stop flashing your stuff out before you get it stolen rather than taking away by a teacher or whatever.;)

I guess what I should do Is take my sim out and put it in my other phone to take to school . Btw I had everyone gathering around me amazed on the shop svvy app . I scaned a old math text book and it came up to be 45 bucks LOL it even had the picture of the book. But it wouldn't work on a gator rade bottle . I also had a kid say his instink was better then my g1 LOL.

I am a teacher, and if a student is messing with something during my class, I tell them to put it away. If they haven't put it away after I've told them once, I take it and give it back to them after class. I don't allow whining or back talking to disrupt my class, but if they approach me at an appropriate time to tell me something relevant about the item, I listen and try find a solution.

I was counting on making it seem like a bigger hassle to take the phone than to dismiss the situation with a warning.

Always thought it was weird that at sixteen we're responsible enough to have jobs, own and operate cars, and (in most states) have consensual sex, but become children again when we enter the school grounds.

Two centuries ago, a sixteen year old was a grown man and probably already married. I think something in society has changed and since we treat teenagers as children, they behave as children. Hell, I'm 24 and I think some people in their early to mid twenties are still children.

Eh, probably not a discussion for a phone forum.
