Help with G1 phone.

sorry if this has already been asked before and sorry if its in the wrong place but whenver i try to connect my G1 with a usb cable i cant open its files. i want to know how to put music in my G1. some1 plz help.

did you change the setting on the phone to be read as mass storage?

Settings>SD card & phone storage> check "use for USB storage"

Whenever I plug my G1 into my computer a box appears in the bottom right corner of my computer screen displaying "USB device not recognized" I even tried erasing all data off the memory card by formatting it but it won't delete anything!!! I guess I'll have to try deleting it manually through "my computer" and then drag everything back in. If you have any suggestions please let me know what to do
